ReplyDeleteI watched this video with my wife. We found it to be a gross negligence from Shell. The part when they said that there was an equivalent of one Exxon Valdez disaster every year for fifty years in Nigeria, that's crazy. How have I never heard anything about that? The poison fire or gas flaring is the most intentional damaging of the environment I have ever heard of. It sounded to me that Shell was the only company there that still did the flaring. The way that Shell kept passing the buck to Nigeria was disgusting. Why should Nigeria pay for Shell's gas flaring? I know there is probably people in the Nigerian government with sticky fingers, but that is no excuse why this wasn't remedied. After watching the video, I had to see if the flaring had stopped. The first post on Google was that the flaring was still going on. That in 2010 it was 30%, now it is 11%, and reduced to 2% in 2014. The sad part was that it was a plug to invest in some company, so the real numbers are probably higher still, with little results. I will tell people about this injustice, and not buy Shell gas any more.My last comment is how is this not in the news, but I have to see articles about celebrities who make me shake my head daily.
